Would you need to shim the hanging material so it doesn’t pinch the chain? The regular mills like this use a different blade, don’t they?
Wouldn’t you have to get this perfectly level to get it flat? Seems like it would be a pain in the ass.
Operator of a WoodMizer here and GM of a lumber yard. This is a slick little getup. Buts only just that. Little. Slabs 4-8” wide is considered waste in most of the woodworking world. Sure. You could get a longer bar and more powerful motor. But there’s no way that stand will hold a trunk ~24” in diameter. Cool for fucking around and make Etsy style projects. But not for real Milling.
