Tech and geek stuff
Tech, geek, and cool stuff we find around the Web
How effective is this? I recently went to the California Science Center after a long time and they have these in front of where they show educational videos. The ones they have look pretty outdated but worked alright, could have been better.
They have those at the Bible museum in DC. They work surprisingly well.
They used to have these in stores in the 90’s when people still bought CDs. They worked pretty well.
I work in distance education and we have a control room for recording classes. Each booth has one of these to separate audio and not confuse the controller. And they work really well. So well it’s almost creepy.
I did exhibit design for a lot of years. We usually avoided these, as they aren’t super effective, and bouncing the sound off the Plex dome to focus the sound effectively kills all the bass. There are new focused sound arrays using multiple speaker arrays that work *much* better.
Can we force people who insist on not wearing their headphones to wear this on their head?
